Marion's Landscape Painting Newsletter - November 2011

WELCOME to my November newsletter, Dear Newsletter Readers,

Hi there, for all of those of you who are involved in the creative world I'm sure you'll agree that there are times when life just seems a little too crazy. This is certainly the case for me. Many exciting things are happening including fo4 art sales before Christmas. Also a brand-new gallery is really interested in exhibiting some of my paintings and for me to lead some mixed media workshops. As if all this was not enough, I felt it would be a good idea for a number of reasons to move my studio space, which is part of my home. Due to this and a number of other factors we have done a four room swap around. The great and wonderful outcome of this is that I have a room just to be creative in. No laptop, no paperwork, no clutter. I simply love it. Also one wall is completely blank and I aim to be able to hang a number of my paintings on this wall so that I can ‘live with them’ and decide if I feel they are completely finished or not. I know I am really fortunate in having this flexibility and space. Why not try and find a room where at least you could put a desk or table and leave your creative work out instead of having to pack up or tidy away your creative workspace?

Another real highlight for me in the last few weeks was the first of my Surrey based mixed media workshops. Nine students gathered together and we had a fantastic day exploring the versatility, excitement, and challenges of mixed media paintings. Lots of fun was had and some really fantastic work was produced. If you are interested in these workshops I am running another one on December 10. November's Product

This month's products is less of a product and more of an event. Exactly a week ago today space (Thursday, 10 November ) I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the arts materials live show at the NEC. This was also combined with Craft Materials and Crafts Christmas. So under one roof there was the most fantastic displays of gorgeous art and craft materials, interesting and informative demonstrations and lots and lots of fantastic goodies to buy. I would highly recommend this event. I found it recharged my batteries; gave me food for thought and I have brought some new products: Chalk acrylics and these I will write about in my next newsletter to you.
